"To become an effective Governor it is essential to attend as many training courses and seminars as possible."
I joined HCCS as a Governor in 1997. My daughter left here in 2004 after completing her education. Until April 2012 I was Chair of Governors and had been for several years, taking the school through to Academy Status.
I have moved from this area, however, I remain a Governor at HCCS. I have recently retired as National Leader of Governance for National College of Education, and I currently act as an advisor in all aspects of Governance.
Over the years I have attended many courses in Governance, these include SEN, Safer Recruitment, Child Protection, and I sit on an Independent Appeal Panel for Exclusions and Admissions for a Local Authority.
I am an External Reviewer for Governing Bodies. My role is to Review and Advise GB’s who have recently had an Ofsted Inspection and been downgraded.
I also act as an Associate Expert in Governance for THE KEY - An Advisory Group for Governors.
