The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is a hub of academic support and enrichment at the heart of our school. Our school runs the Accelerated Reader program for Key Stage 3 students to encourage and develop a lifelong love of reading. By offering a wide range of books at varying levels, the program helps students improve their reading skills at their own pace. Through regular assessments, competitions and tailored reading lessons once a fortnight, students receive personalised book recommendations, allowing them to engage with material that suits their interests and reading ability. Accelerated Reader not only motivates students to read more, but also helps build their confidence, vocabulary, and comprehension, supporting their academic success across all subjects.

SPARX is a personalised, interactive tool designed to engage students with challenging texts and help them improve their comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. The program helps build confidence and equips students with the skills needed for academic success, particularly in preparing for exams and further education.
