Mr Nick Lewis
I am a Chartered Civil & Structural Engineer and also have an MBA in Project Management, which I studied at Henley Management College. My early working career was spent in engineering consultancy, but I became involved in the fields of renewable energy and power generation almost twenty years ago. For the past 18 years, I have run a company based in Sandbach that supplies and maintains a range of power generation equipment across the UK.
I strongly believe that what we learn during formative years of education, particularly at secondary school, has a fundamental bearing on what we can ultimately go on to achieve in our working lives. Firm foundations do not ultimately guarantee success, but without them it is almost impossible to achieve.
In Holmes Chapel, I think that we are very privileged. It is a fantastic village to raise a family, with all the right ingredients. Amongst these are excellent primary schools and a first class secondary school. The happiness of the students at HCCS, which I see through my kids and their friends, and the results which the school consistently achieves, are testimony to the quality of the education and environment that the school provides. Our eldest daughter, Georgia, was able to pursue her chosen course of study at the university that she wanted to attend; we can ask no more than that of our secondary school.
I am delighted and very grateful to have the opportunity to work as Parent Governor at HCCS for a second four year period and build upon the knowledge and experience that I gained during my initial term as governor. In my own way, I'm, trying to give a little back.
