I hope you are all ok and keeping safe. Today, I just wanted to follow up on Jo Camm’s email to you all about the Sixth Form transition programme which starts on 11th May.
So far, there has been a really good response and lots of you have signed up, which is great. I thought I would just contact you all as the learning intervention manager for your year group just to see how you are at the moment.
There is no doubt that this pandemic and the fall out from it, hits you disproportionately harder than anyone else. All of your teachers and tutors can see the impact and share a lot of your disappointment, especially when it comes to being able to celebrate your completion of your secondary school education and the results you achieve.
Thinking a little further on, we want to make sure that you can hit the ground running when you return to study after the present lockdown, after summer. We know that some of you will be joining our Sixth Form whilst others will be moving on to different places. We obviously would like to see as many of you as possible joining us after the summer and studying here but right now, we would like to support every one of you. The transition programme that we are designing will help you regardless of where you end up studying. It really is useful to test out the subjects that you are thinking about studying further.
So, if you haven’t yet decided to join in please have a look and seriously consider having a go. This really is about us working together to support you but at the end of the day, you will need to join in and do the work that has been set.
Jo Camm’s email had a part that mentions supporting you, we genuinely care what happens to you and how ready you are for whatever you choose to do next. If you need to talk or want some further guidance, please just contact us, we would be very happy to help.
