Over the weekend, the Prime Minister announced a number of changes to the rules around Covid safety that we must all consider. We are therefore publishing this update to the arrangements we have in place within our school and hope that all families will help us maintain the current position right through to the Christmas break. Our primary objective is to keep all of our school community safe and to give our students the best possible school experience but we need your continued help to make this possible.
If your child is unwell in any way they must not come to school. If you need to discuss any symptoms that your child or other household member may be experiencing please contact us on Nocv19@hccs.info and we will respond appropriately.
Face coverings remain mandatory at all times when in the school buildings. Please check that your child has a face covering with them before coming into school each day. It is something we can all do to help to prevent an outbreak in school. This will remain in place when we return to school after the Christmas break.
Self testing All families are encouraged to take part in the voluntary, regular, twice weekly covid testing (LFT). We now have a number of examples of infections being detected through the twice weekly self testing scheme and make no apologies for asking all families to consider taking part.
Vaccination is now available for all students over the age of 12 years and all staff. We understand completely that there are a range of views about young people accessing the vaccine programme but would ask all eligible students and their parents to consider the issue carefully. The take up in the three days of on site vaccinations was high and we hope to be offered further sessions in the new term.
If someone in your household tests positive for Covid all members of the household should book a PCR test. Please do not attend school or send your child to school until the PCR test result comes back as negative. We expect to hear more about changes to the isolation rules as the week develops. Please email us Nocv19@hccs.info so that we can make sure that all appropriate steps can be taken to keep our school community safe.
