The Prime Minister has announced a national lockdown, including the closure of schools from Tuesday 5th January 2021 until further notice. Our school is therefore now closed. Teaching and learning has now switched to our education at home platforms in line with our earlier announcement. This will remain in place until at least February half term. We remain fully committed to doing everything we can to keep all of our students fully engaged in learning and on track with where we would expect them to be by the end of this academic year.
The revised return to learning timetable in summary

All students and staff will continue to follow a full five lesson per day schedule.
Year 13 Final Examinations
We have a small number of Year 13 students who are due to sit final examinations in the week commencing 11th January 2021. We expect these examinations to go ahead as planned. Staff will be on hand to fully support the students coming into school to sit their final examinations. Students will also be invited to attend a planned revision session, in school, tomorrow Wednesday 6th January 2021. All students and staff will be invited in to school one hour before the revision session and examinations and offered Lateral Flow COVID Tests. Students involved are being contacted directly.
Key Workers club
We have put in place arrangements to support some of our most vulnerable families and the children of key workers very much as we did during the first, full lockdown. Any parents who are identified as being in a key worker role can apply for a place by email to firstname.lastname@example.org We will need to know your requirements by noon on Friday for the week ahead. We have also been in contact with a number of families where additional support may be needed. Students attending school during this time will be supported in accessing their online learning schedule. Attendance at school will be in full school uniform. Lunch will be available in school.
The Key Workers Club will be held in the Sixth Form block.
Free School Meals
Families who qualify for free school meals will be contacted directly and arrangements are in place, as in the first lockdown, to ensure that all children continue to receive appropriate support throughout the school closure period which will include the half term holiday.
New safety measures in place
We have now completed the setup of our integrated Test, Track and Trace team and have commenced routine screening for staff who are asymptomatic. During the lockdown period, we will be offering screening to all students and staff on site as part of our enhanced protocols to keep our school community safe. The Lateral Flow Tests do not replace the need for students or staff who are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 to book a test at one of the NHS testing stations. The aim of the school’s screening service is to reassure staff and families that whilst in school, we have the capability to identify individuals who may be unknowingly contagious but displaying no symptoms.
