Following the press conference by the Prime Minister at approximately 5:30pm this evening, we are now planning to close our school and sixth form college site with effect from Friday evening, 20th March 2020, at 3pm. The School site will then remain closed until further notice.
From Monday 23rd March we will move over to our online learning platforms based on google-classroom as we have been planning over the last few weeks.
School staff will be working, as a team, throughout the day tomorrow so that we can provide the answers to the many questions that parents will inevitably have. The details about what we are being asked to do in terms of providing some support for children of front line workers and the most vulnerable members of our school community are yet to be shared with us. We will, of course, keep you informed as information becomes available.
The Prime Minister also confirmed, in his press conference, that the external examinations this summer will not go ahead. We do not, at this stage, have any further details. As always, we will keep you informed as soon as we receive any further information.
The situation is changing rapidly and we understand the anxiety and frustration that exists. We are unable to answer many questions that you may have at this stage. Please keep an eye on our website, as the day goes on and we will use it to keep you all up to date via the blog that we have established.
Staff within the school do not have any additional information to share and so we would very respectfully ask parents and carers not to contact the school by telephone to ask for further information re the closure unless absolutely necessary.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding our response to the Coronavirus, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org and we promise we will respond as quickly as possible.
