Update information for students in Year 9

Yesterday we made the decision to ask all year 9 students to stay at home and to move to remote learning for the next few days. We would like to thank everyone for your patience and understanding. We now have four confirmed cases in Year 9 with symptoms going back to last weekend but the further PCR test results that we were waiting for have now come back negative.

By tomorrow morning we will have completed our track and trace procedures for the final case that has been confirmed as positive. It is our intention to then write to all parents and students in Year 9 to give you a full update. This will include advice about the need to continue to self isolate for those who are identified as being in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid19. In the meantime, it is important for all year 9 students to continue to self isolate until this information is completed. We expect to be able to release the majority of students from isolation when we contact you again tomorrow.

It is apparent from local experience, that some symptoms experienced by young people vary significantly from the main three that are commonly quoted. We have also been advised therefore to ask you to consider taking your child for a PCR test should they feel unwell in any way. These actions will go some way to helping to bring students back to school safely. The safety of our whole school community remains our priority. Mobile testing stations are available in Cheshire East and can be found at:

Other members of your household can continue normal activities provided your child does not develop symptoms within the self-isolation period.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any comments or concerns via Nocv19@hccs.info

Yours sincerely
