Alex Rodda
It is with great sadness that I need to inform you of the death of Alex Rodda, a student in Year 11 at our school. There has been much speculation on social media, however, the circumstances around Alex’s death are subject to an ongoing police investigation and we have been asked by them not to comment further at this stage. We will continue to cooperate fully with any requests from the police.
The safety and wellbeing of our students is our priority. School will be open as normal on Monday and staff will be on hand to support students in anyway affected by this tragic loss. The senior leadership team are monitoring the situation closely over the weekend.
Alex will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him within our close-knit school family. Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with Alex’s family and friends at this very sad time.

Interim Reports Year 11 & 13
Posted: 7th October 2019
Next week (w/c 7th October) we will be issuing the first interim reports of the year for students in year 11 and 13. Obviously, these are important milestones for students and parents who are plotting their course towards the external exams in 2020.
This note is to confirm the arrangements for the distribution of this information. The interim reports will be sent to students and parents via email at 3pm on Friday 11th October.
Parents will be notified using the email addresses they have provided us with. If you have recently changed your preferred email address and have not updated your information with school, would you please contact us by e-mailing interims@hccs.info.
Likewise, if you have any questions or need any further information before the interims are published on Friday please direct them to interims@hccs.info in the first instance.
These first interim results are just one piece of information that helps students, parents and teaching staff to track progress as the year unfolds. Over the coming months, further interims, trial exams and subject specific progress, will form the basis of discussion at Parents evenings when subject teachers will be available.
Year 11 Parents evening will be held on Thursday 9th January 5pm until 7pm
Year 13 Parents evening will be held on Thursday 5th December 5pm until 7pm
