Admissions process for September 2021 Year 7 Intake
Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School admissions arrangement has not changed for 2021/22.
I would like to bring to your attention a couple of key points for this process.
The online system for applications for the September 2021 to Year 7 closes on 31st October 2020 and offers will be available by the Cheshire East Admission (Secondary Transfer) system on 1st March 2021. Parents will have the opportunity to either accept or decline the place offered by the 15th March 2021.
Should you require any further information about the application process, please refer to the “How to apply for a school place” webpage via this link https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/schools/admissions/start-school-september.aspx
If you have not been offered a place at HCCS and are still interested in joining us, please email email@example.com and ask to be put on to the HCCS waiting list as every year a significant number of places that are offered are not taken up.
You can also request an Admission Appeal form from our school. Please provide an email address so that we can send the form to you. At this time in the process there are many changes and places become available each day. These are then allocated to the students on the waiting list.
If you have not been offered a place after the waiting list has been filled, the appeals process will be started.
Admissions process for In Year applications
Applications for school places ‘in year’ are for admission after the first day of the school year into any year group. You will need to complete the online Cheshire East In Year Application form found on their website via this link https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/schools/admissions/in-year-applications.aspx and this will be forwarded to HCCS.
Should you have any further queries about the HCCS admissions policy please contact the Admissions Officer via firstname.lastname@example.org
Sixth Form Admissions
There is an application procedure and entry into Holmes Chapel Sixth Form is not automatic. Only students who are predicted to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or equivalent and a positive approach to learning will be offered a place. To study some subjects a grade B at GCSE is required. Places are confirmed when GCSE results are released in August.
During October you will complete a Holmes Chapel Sixth Form application form and references will be sought from tutors and subject staff about applicants’ suitability.
Following your application you will have a discussion with one of the Holmes Chapel Senior Leaders or Jo Camm (Director of Sixth Form) about your intentions and suitability for Sixth Form.
During December all offers of places in the Sixth Form will be made by letter. This will detail whether your application is firm, conditional or rejected. Students with firm offers need to meet the above standard entry requirements. If your offer is conditional, the letter will specifically outline additional areas of your attainment and/or approach to learning that need to improve. We will review your progress after each interim and change your offer to a firm one if you are on track to meet your individual conditions.
In August all successful applicants will receive an enrolment form with enrolment details in their GCSE results envelope. This form should be completed with final subject choices for consideration by Subject Leaders. These must be handed in during Sixth Form enrolment (on results day) or emailed to email@example.com within 5 days.
Further information can be found on our website www.hccs.info. Should you have any queries about the Holmes Chapel Sixth Form and your application please contact the Sixth Form Support Manager on 01477 410500.
